What I teach

Focused tutoring for the courses that matter most

AP Physics is the flagship, with high-school Math and Physics support for students who want clear explanations and structured practice.

High-school Math

Support with core skills, homework, tests, final exams and deeper understanding — not just memorizing steps.

  • Grades 8–12 Math
  • Algebra & Functions
  • Trigonometry
  • Pre-Calculus & Calculus

High-school Physics

Build the intuition behind equations and learn a repeatable approach to unfamiliar physics problems.

  • Mechanics & Energy
  • Momentum & Rotation
  • Electricity & Circuits
  • Waves & Modern Physics

The Mahon Academy approach

More than an hour on Zoom

Students learn best when they understand the "why," practice deliberately, and get help before confusion compounds. Tutoring is structured around all three.

01

Find the gaps

We identify where understanding breaks down and what is holding back performance.

02

Learn the concept

We rebuild the topic visually and logically so formulas actually make sense.

03

Practice with purpose

We work through targeted problems, exam-style questions and mock assessments.

04

Stay supported

Students can email questions 7 days a week and receive a reply within 24 hours.

Simple pricing

Choose the format that fits you

No complicated course-by-course rate table. One clear private rate and one clear group rate.

Mahan, engineering professional and tutor
Meet your instructor

Hi, I'm Mahan.

I'm an engineering professional, UBC graduate, and math and physics tutor with more than seven years of teaching and tutoring experience.

My background is in Mechanical Engineering, including a Master's degree from the University of British Columbia. Alongside my engineering work, I've spent years teaching and tutoring students through university, academy, online, and in-home settings.

I don't want students to memorize a solution they'll forget next week. My goal is to help them understand the physical idea, see the mathematical structure, and develop a process they can use when the problem looks different on the exam.
